Dell OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) is an agent-based systems management solution for Dell PowerEdge servers. It provides a comprehensive, one-to-one view of server hardware and operating system health, accessible locally or remotely through a secure web interface or command-line tools. Administrators can monitor critical components—such as storage (including RAID and physical disks), memory, CPUs, power supplies, fans, and network interfaces—receive alerts, review logs and diagnostics, and export detailed hardware inventory. OMSA also supports storage configuration tasks, including creating virtual disks and assigning hot spares.
OMSA integrates with the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) and Dell OpenManage Enterprise to streamline lifecycle operations and enable centralized oversight. It supports Windows Server and leading Linux distributions, exposes SNMP and WS-Management interfaces for third-party tools, and helps maintain compliance by surfacing driver and firmware versions.
